In San Diego homes are buy one, get one free

No joke. In San Diego you'll get a second home for free with the purchase of another (more expensive home). If that isn't a sign that the market is still terrible in San Diego I don't know what is, and if you're trying to sell your own home you certainly can't compete with that.
